A working week only needs a few pieces if they share a palette. Black, white, and one quiet third color — navy, grey, or stone — can cover five days without the outfits repeating in an obvious way. The change comes from proportion and texture, not from a new color every morning.

Lay the seven combinations out before the week starts, including the shoes. Repeat pieces without guilt. A white shirt that appears three times is working. A dress that needs its own private accessories is not part of the guide. The point is a week that feels lighter because the choices were already made.

Monday can be the strictest: a white shirt, a black trouser, a clean shoe. Tuesday swaps the trouser for a skirt, or the shirt for a fine knit, so the silhouette changes while the colors stay. Wednesday is the day for texture, a cotton poplin against a wool crepe, or a ribbed knit under a smooth jacket. Thursday can invert the week and put the dark piece on top, a black knit with a light bottom. Friday loosens the same clothes: sleeves rolled, a softer shoe, the jacket left open.

Lay the five combinations out once, on Sunday, and the weekday decisions are already made. The point of a capsule is that each garment appears more than once. A single white shirt is doing its job when it shows up on three of the five days.

A seven-day guide is a capsule in disguise. The energy comes from deciding once, not from owning more. If the shirts share a palette with the trousers, each morning is a rearrangement instead of a hunt. Texture is what keeps the week from looking like a uniform: poplin one day, knit the next, the same colors throughout.
